Your baby is fat.

At least there's a good chance that your baby is fat.

The other night the GF and I had dinner with Jumpin' Joe and his wife K at Bhabi's Kitchen up on Devon, the place we ended up going when we found Hema's Kitchen was closed. Bhabi's is byob as well and Bhabi (pronounced Bobby) is ever present. He's just so damn nice and helpful. I should have taken pictures, but I forgot. My bad. Next time. And there WILL be a next time. Everything just seems sooooo good and Bhabi will tell you what's special about every dish. When he came up to take our order, he remembered what GF had the last time we were there (well over a month ago). He's quite the character if you take the time to talk to him and ask his opinion.

Latest in the "My Life is Awesome And I'm Above the Law" screwups from the NFL is Reggie Williams, a wide receiver from Jacksonville. Nice job multi-millionaire. Dumb-ass. First DWI and now getting tasered and caught carrying coke. How to kill your career in two steps.

And finally, the Cubbies won their opener!! Yay!!! Just wanted to say that while I really like the way this team sets up, I disagree with Lou's lineup. We'll compare:

Lou's lineup My Lineup
A. Soriano lf R. Johnson cf
K. Fukudome cf M. Fontenot 2b
D. Lee 1b M. Bradley rf
M. Bradley rf A. Ramirez 3b
A. Ramirez 3b A. Soriano lf
M. Fontenot 2b D. Lee 1b
G. Soto c G. Soto c
R. Theriot ss R. Theriot ss
C. Zambrano p C. Zambrano p

How Lou could put Fukudome in the two slot is beyond me. He was awful playing for Japan and hasn't done any better when he reported to the Cubs. He went 0-4 and hit into a double-play. D.Lee struggled last year and I'd like to take the pressure off of him and move him down in the order. Bradley wants to prove his worth in his new town, so move him up. Plus his OBP is stellar. There are a lot of good lineups that you could make with that talent and I think Lou picked a weaker one.

Wow...I'll bet all of next Monday's ticketholders will be disappointed to learn that they missed the home opener, which appears to have been held in Houston this year. :-P

Whoops!! You're right.

I also messed up because I wanted to have Reed playing CF and not Fukudome. Either Reed or Theriot could lead off. I'm fine either way.

...and by Reed I mean Reed Johnson of course.

I firmly believe that obesity rates are linked to the (un)availability of healthy foods to lower income neighborhoods. And a sedentary lifestyle brought on from being on their own (because the parents are working) or because the parents are too tired from working multiple jobs, or because it is not safe to allow children to play outside unattended. They did the study based on racial groups but I bet numbers based on income level would be more conclusive.

From what I watched of the cubs last year, Fukudome seemed clutch when it mattered most..Soriano played the 1 spot for years with the Yanks, perhaps he's trying to get him to hit again, like when he was with the Yanks :)

No way you change the 3,4,5.
Good luck to the Cubs, I will be up until 5 in the morning now on the East Coast trying to catch a Dodger game, I should just convert already to Rays fandomonium, or lack of...down here in St Pete..

The order in hich the players hit is far, far less important than who the players are in the first place. Put another way, you can rearrange the lineup in any way you'd like and the difference may only be a handful of runs, but putting Johnson in for Fukudome would make a much larger difference.

I also happen to think that the chance that Fukudome will rebound from last year is better than the chance that Reed Johnson will duplicate last year.
