The last guacamole

Sorry about the late post; the Bears game threw me for a loop. As you know, I'm a Bears season ticket holder and avid tailgater. Yesterday was, once again, a beautiful day for tailgating. Unfortunately, the game was at 7:15 pm, so by the time it ended (and we'd been destroyed) it was time to just go home and clean up.

The spread for this game will differ from future games most likely. Since it was a night game, there were no breakfast items. In fact, I have yet to make a bloody Maria (bloody Mary but with tequila) for a tailgate this year! Normally I have several before the game, but only if it starts at noon. Any later and I switch to beer or Captain and Coke.

So we haven't had egg sandwiches or bacon or sausage patties at all. And we can only really have guacamole while it's relatively warm out. When it gets cold, people have gloves on and don't want to be dipping chips into anything while wearing gloves. Makes sense. So while yesterday was great, the next home game (in three weeks) will be too cold for guac I'm sure. Boo.

However, the cold weather does bring a new dish out: three-pepper chili! I do love to make my three-pepper chili and am looking forward to it again this year. With the acquisition late last year of the Vidalia Chop Wizard, my chopping is done in no time and the chili is a breeze to prepare.

The Bears got smoked last night and lost several players to injury: Briggs and Vasher (groin), Rueben Brown (ankle) and Tommie Harris (not sure). Why can't they lose Grossman to injury? Three more interceptions for the boy-who-wonders. Their offensive line seems to have aged about 10 years since the Super Bowl and just aren't getting the job done. Berrian dropped three passes that anyone reading my blog could have caught, I'm looking at you Alexis! Benson can't run through a hole to save his life. Archeleta couldn't cover your mother, much less a tight end. Tillman couldn't cover Owens, but at least he kept him out of the endzone. It was a debacle.

Serenity now. Serenity now. Serenity now.

Yeah ouch! to top it off I have to listen to these stinking Packer fans (3-0) rub it in.
Why don't you put the guacamole in a squeeze bottle? hey there's a new product idea, it could be as big as cheese wiz.
