The Brew Dogs lost our only game on Thursday in one of the most gut wrenching defeats in memory. Leading the whole game after scoring 4 in the first, we led 7-3 going into the bottom of the seventh. They scored 4 to tie it at seven and left the bases loaded in the process. In the top of the 8th, we started with two outs, followed by two hits (including yours truly who was 3-4 on the day) followed by yet another fly out. We actually had three strikeouts on our team (one for the other guys) and far too many fly outs. Ugh. They scored one in the 8th and that was it. Ugh.
Friday we have a game at 4 and, if we win, a game at 8. Hopefully we can go into Saturday and play 5-6 games then. Shoot. With this heat and 200 teams, it's important not to go into the losers bracket this early.
On a positive note, not only was my Dad's cataract surgery successful, but he can see out of the eye without the use of his coke-bottle-esque glasses!!! Amazing. Truly amazing. He's totally jacked since he's had thick glasses for the last 65 years or so.
