On Sunday I was watching the Colts play the Texans in Houston and they flashed up on the screen one of the owners boxes. In addition to Prince being there in one box, George Bush Sr. was in another box.
At that moment, I, a registered Republican, was overcome with a wonderful warm, happy sense as I thought, "George Bush (Jr.) is not our President any more."
I'm not writing this to be inflammatory towards my Republican friends. It was simply such a great feeling and I was really surprised by it in both the timing and the intensity.
Of course the smile didn't last long as the Bears game started shortly thereafter.
