It's hard to organize how the 10 day trip to three cities, but since I've already posted Berlin pictures, I'll just move along the time frame and save separate entries for the tulips and some more differences and observations.
We left Berlin and flew to Amsterdam and from there we took the train to Leiden. Oh yeah, I already wrote about that. Sorry. Here's some pictures then!
Here are pictures of the koi pond at the Holiday Inn in Leiden. Yep, a koi pond. And with turtles! Very cool. You can see them in the picture.
And here's a picture of the bikes all racked up near the Leiden train station. There were three or four more sets just like these around the station. Sooo many bikes.
We ate right down the canal from this windmill in the center of Leiden. While looking at this serene view, I had another La Chouffe beer, which is awesome, and had the cheese stalk that I wrote about last week.
Here's LL on the bridge over the canal with the windmill in the background.
This machine is at each bus stop in Leiden. The left column is the line and the right column is when that bus is arriving. But then there's this crazy camera looking thing with two hands up in front of it. I have no idea what that's for. Anyone know?
In one of the stores in Leiden, V and D, a department store of sorts, they also have a huge selection of chocolate eggs. Just awesome looking. Why didn't I buy a mess of them??
On our last night in Leiden, LL's workmates took us out to a restaurant along the beach.
Here's another view of the beach. It was fairly chilly and for some reason our gracious hosts thought we'd want to head down, through the sand, to the waters edge. Not sure why. Maybe they are used to it be cold or like sand in their shoes. The food was good though and I had another La Chouffe beer! It quickly became my favorite, widely available European beer.
Tomorrow, Kuekenhof!

can't help you with the machine - no idea what that is!
The chocolate eggs are only available around Easter, and are super traditional. Usually filled with different sort of bonbon fillings.
