Tony O

Last night. LL and I went to see the Blackhawks play. It was Tony Esposito Heritage night and we got sweet hats as part of the night. Tony O was the Hawks goalie from 1969-1984 and helped take the team to the playoffs for 14 consecutive years. Quite a run. Granted, more teams made the playoffs as a percentage of all teams, but it wasn't a given. Unfortunately, he never won a Stanley Cup, but he did win three Vezina Trophies as the league's best goalie and the Calder Trophy for rookie of the year.

We've really enjoyed watching the Hawks play after a tough Bears season. Plus, hockey has much more action than football. A while ago I mentioned a study that said an average football game actually only had 11 minutes of action. A hockey game is SO different though and it's costant action. Very fun to watch. Throw in some beer and you have yourself one helluva night!

I'm glad you've found a lovely person who loves sports as much as you do!

Totally agree. My wife and I had season tickets to the Devils when we lived in NJ. Got to see them win the Cup in 2003, and then that summer as a season ticker holder promo got to come back and have our picture taken while touching it. Sch-weet.

We subscribe to NHL Center Ice and watch tons of game.

Live is definitely best, although HD coverage comes pretty close.
