Alive in Detroit

Sorry about the lack of postings this week. Though I got a great rate on a nice hotel (off Priceline), they do charge an exhorbitant fee for internet access ($13-$14 I think, which is the same price as a in-room movie). We're sitting at a Starbucks now though before hitting the Detroit Zoo (always fun), and their internet access is free and pretty good.

The Cubs games were good games, but we lost both of them. In fact, the Cubs were swept out of town. At one point we were 1-27 with runners in scoring position; that after getting shutout by the Braves stranding 12 runners on base. Not a whole lot of timely hitting going on. More on the games over the weekend.

We had a wonderful dinner with Hall of Famer Ernie Harwell and his wife Lulu. More on that later as well.

A bright, sunny, not too warm day in Detroit today. It's beautiful!!

Doesn't seem like this is going to be the best of years for Chicago baseball. Better focus your efforts on the Fire.
