Collecting Chairs

Tomorrow I head to Vegas for a softball tournament this weekend. Should be fun. Today though I was scrambling around in preparation for leaving and being laid up next week after surgery.

This morning brought a new chair:

This bad boy is where I'm going to spend 6 hours a day doing rehab. Yes, SIX hours a day: 2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon and 2 at night for at least the next 10 days. The machine attached to the chair lifts my arm up from 30 degrees to my goal of 150 degrees. It should help prevent scar tissue from forming. Oh, and insurance doesn't cover it. Nice. $27 a day though at a discounted rate (down from $70 a day).

And this beauty is my sling. It has a large black pad that keeps my arm an appropriate distance from my body. It's pretty cool. My arm will go into the blue sleeve with my hand at the top of this picture and my elbow at the bottom. There's even a ball attached with velcro which I'll need to squeeze as needed to keep circulation flowing.

LL and I as we left our first Christmas party of the year. It's the annual affair that a law firm we work with throws. Good stuff. Right off the bat, we ran into the husband of one of LL's best friends! Too funny. Food was great, but I can't even begin to go into all of what was available.

6 hours a day? Yikes! It'll all be worth it in the long run though, when you're back to good as new.
